Working for a multinational

A global originator is a company that invents its own medicines and sells them around the world.
Building a plant for this kind of company is different from building one for a regional manufacturer. The difference is not in the engineering.
It is in the specification. The company usually sends it already written, as a corporate engineering standard.
That standard applies to every site the company owns. The local project must meet it, and must also meet the rules of the local regulator.
In practice, the design team has less freedom and must produce more documents. A project can move away from the company standard, but that is a formal process.
So it helps to ask early which parts of the standard are fixed and which parts are decided for each site.
The standard usually limits the choice of equipment, the materials of construction, the instruments and the qualification approach. Qualification is the set of written tests that prove the equipment works as designed.
The climate still decides the environmental design. In North Africa, the dehumidification load decides which cleanroom HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) system is chosen.
Dehumidification means taking moisture out of the air. The Navesta, Sri Lanka project worked the same way.
It is in a different region, but the same limit decided its design.
